the evolution of the marriage proposal...sort of
the more things change, the more they stay the same...
wedding traditions have evolved in leaps and bounds over the centuries but one aspect of the wedding that has endured, for the most part unchanged, is the marriage proposal: person 1 meets person 2, they fall in love, then after whatever length of time they deem appropriate, person 1 will declare their love and desire to be with person 2 forever, at which point person 2 says an enthusiastic "Yes!" and the rest is history.
while we haven't really changed what we do when it comes to marriage proposals, we've certainly gotten bigger and better when it comes to the way we do it.
here are some of our favourite proposal trends:
not sure what ring to go with? agonizing over what style to choose, whether or not to get a diamond, what metal will be the most timeless? you're not alone. so why not go the route that so many are taking these days and get a proposal ring? it doesn't have to break the bank, and it can be a really sweet way to commemorate the moment you got engaged while also ensuring your love gets the ring of their dreams. you can also tailor the ring you choose to your love story or even where you plan on proposing. plan on popping the question while on a hike through the mountains? the summit ring is definitely for you, then. if you want the ring to make a statement, why not go with the legacy ring and engrave it with a beautiful message so it can literally make a statement? the options are endless when it comes to proposal rings, and it's a trend we can totally get behind.
when it comes to proposals, we love personalization more than anything. while the show-stopping, down-on-one-knee moment in a fancy restaurant on valentine's day is perfect for some couples, it's not for everyone, and now it doesn't have to be. your proposal is a great way to show your love how well you know them and how much your love story means to you.
